Who is Lihuà (Wong Lai Wah)?
Lihuà (王莉桦, Wong Lai Wah) is a Malaysian illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur whose atelier was established in 2010. She blends Chinese calligraphy with Western watercolour, mostly in fashion illustration, and is the lead artist of WM Arte Gallery.
Her client work includes Bulgari, Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Chaumet, Dior, Cartier, Hugo Boss, Longines, Balmain, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Bata and Airbnb. She teaches fashion illustration at Esmod KL.
Her main collections are Daydreams (142 watercolours, shown in 2024), Busana Malaysia (22 works on Malaysian dress, 2023) and Strokes of Fashion (38 runway and icon portraits, 2021).
She was a finalist in the 2025 BIBF International Illustration Awards, Advertising category, for her "Olympic 2024" project. Through WM Arte's partnership with Phillus she illustrated for Chanel's 2026 Haute Couture collection, and she was shown alongside Lorenzo Mattotti at the Shanghai Illustration Festival (2026).
